In honour of London’s Gay Pride Parade this weekend I made this little shoe addict pride flag. I don’t expect people to compromise their views however discrimination doesn’t benefit anyone. Throw on a fabulous pair of heels spread more love and have a lovely week!
I’ve been a long time fan of the Australian clothing company Black Milk. When I was making crazy print leggings (F.A.D.) while living in Montreal, I really admired the unique print designs of BM’s leggings and still do. Well now they’ve done a collaboration with Jeffrey Campbell (O-M-G !!!!)
Awesome Prints + Awesome Shoes = Shoe Addict Heaven!
Three BM prints – Rainbow Galaxy, Bone Machine and Sick of Men on
Five JC styles – 99 Tie, Back Off, Damsel, Lita Fab, Night Lita
Today is Canada day! Yay!!! Incase you didn’t know I am Canadian Eh! Funnily enough I’m not there right now but all my buddies Joe, Jean-Claude, Mary and Michelle from Canada will celebrate for me. So just wanted to wish everyone a fabulous day in honour of my beautiful, diverse, and awesomely lovely country. If you’re lucky enough to visit my fair land here are a few key shoes to invest in :-P;
Snow Shoes – There is a lot of snow in the great white north, to ease the walk back to your igloo these will help you disperse your weight.
Skis – When you’re taking a look ’round the Rockies you’ll need a good pair of Skis to get back to your log cabin home. Having strong and sharp ski poles will help fight off Polar bears as you glide by.
Hockey Skates – Most importantly, while visiting Canada a bout of hockey could break out at any moment! Make sure you’re prepared with some sturdy skates.
Last but not least, we Canadians love a great party with lots of beer, peameal bacon and maple syrup eh! So get an awesome pair of heels at ALDO, my favourite Canadian shoe brand! http://www.aldoshoes.com
Happy Canada Day luvies!
Beautifully luxurious Italian shoe brand Gianmarco Lorenzi has me head over my stiletto heelz. These fabulously elegant and glittering shooz will make you feel llike you’re on a red carpet. I love them because even though they are a little gaudy they don’t look cheap, unless you’re Snooki and wearing a zebra print dress .
Well known for their unique shapes, glittering Swarovskis and stick thin stilettos. The company was started by Brothers Gianni and Renzo who come from a long tradition of fine shoes. When researching the brand I realized a lot of celebrities love the brand including Nicki Minaj and Beyonce. I’m not into celebrity copy catting but I do want me a few pairs!
Here are a few of my faves from the most recent collection. Enjoy!
Since I’m over the pond I figured I better take advantage of being so close to the rest of the world by trying to go EVERYWHERE! My first major trip I’d like to be Morocco! When envisioning myself walking through the exotic scented souks I’m wearing a flowing maxi dress and jeweled sandals. So my search for the perfect holiday shooz began. Here is what I have so far!
No, I don’t have multiple boys on the go. What kind of girl do you take me for? I have, however, been having a love affair with Miista since moving across the pond. Chunky, retro but modern, well crafted and quality materials all go into these shooz. They’re bold, unusual but simple all at the same time. I love ’em!
Miista is an East London based company headed by Spanish born designer Laura Villasenin. I think what I love most is the shape, they have an odd quality that makes them stand out. And just the right amount of unexpected detail. Their website includes an online shop, blog and fan photo page (www.miista.com).
One excerpt I loved on their About page ” Miista is… Curious – always looking…The Miista style… Elegance – for headstrong women…”
When purchasing online you’re able to even get a discount when you Tweet about it. Yes, brilliant marketing but I’m not complaining. My first pair were some Gabi wedges in black for X-mas and more recently some Dolores woven T-straps. Here is a little nibble of some of their latest items.
I find these shooz very comfortable and quite sturdy, making them reasonable for walking. In fact just yesterday I did a whole tour of Central London in my Deloros’ and was happy to wear them out again that evening. The construction is excellent, leather so soft; keeping my foot in place comfortably and not restricted. I did get a blister on my big toe but I suspect its from my daring strut along cobble stones 😛
I’ve been seeing a lot of rubber shoes lately, not just as rain boots but sandals and heels too. This reminded me of my lovely days as a primary schooler and one of the biggest shoe trends I recall: JELLIES! They’re making a comeback, although in a more updated way. Not sure if I will partake this time ’round but I do have fond memories if sitting with my 6th grade girl crew comparing our Jelly Sandals. I had transparent sparkles with a heel (yes even then I loved heels), Nettie had transparent pink, Tara had pink with sparkles and Kelly had yellow. If I could find ones exactly like the ones I had I may just have to snap them up.
I love metallics! I don’t care what anyone says, I think accessories in metallics add texture and glamour to any look. Glistening in the light your soles look bad ass! The key is in not overdoing it. Elements are good but not entire outfits, or you may end up looking like the P. Diddy and Mase of the 90s…eeek.
Also take note, I mostly purchase shoes online. I tend to stay away from shops, mostly because London is so busy and customer service is lacking…Also I find it simpler to compare and find really unique stuff. Best of all they’re delivered right to my door, the anticipation is half the fun! Most of these sites are pretty well known but here are a few that I tend to check daily for the newest, craziest and uniquest SHOOZ
Here are a few of my faves for the season, you can’t go wrong with a strappy sandals and summer dress for date night. The JC-Aristas and Sergio Rossi cut outs are on my shopping list as we speak. Delicious!
The Ultimate Metallic shoe made by Brazilian Designer Andreia Cheves. The Invisible Shoe is made with real glass mirrors with a 5.5inch heel. These gleaming beauties are made to order, take 4-6 weeks to make and deliver and are a whopping $4K. I better start saving up if I wanna look like Gaga at the club.
Who doesn’t love a lively pop of colour? Flashes of neon have been in and out for years but worn correctly never get old. I love how they can funktify any old outfit and make it playful and full of youth! Here are a few of my top picks, hope you love ’em as much as me. Peace & love
Of all the shoe shops I love to peek into when I’m out Office is at the top of the list. They have a great variety and get new styles in often. While takin’ a look see ’round Central London the other day I found these at Office, cute right?
